Morning at Pasikuda

Morning, originally uploaded by vidulahasaranga.

One of the best scenes you can see at Pasikuda in the early morning is returning fishermen after their night work. With the colorful background of raising sun, this become a scene from heaven.

Pasikuda is one of the best beaches Sri Lanka have in eastern coast. One of the places you have to visit at Sri Lanka if you are a sea lover. In this calm beach you can stay whole day with blessing sun shine and low sea waves.

You can refer my older blog post about Pasikuda from here.

Bubbles

Bubbles, originally uploaded by vidulahasaranga.

We always love to play with bubbles when we were small.

This picture was taken at Pasikuda, Sri Lanka while I am travelling in a motor boat. Motor of the boat produce huge force to pull the water backward and it make lot of water bubbles to remind me my child age. Not easy to capture this image as the boat is travelling very fast and shacking with the sea tides.

Dawning at Pasikuda

Morning reflection, originally uploaded by vidulahasaranga.

Pasikuda is developing now after the 30 years of war. It is one of the best beaches you can find in eastern coast of Sri Lanka. It is a place you can see the dawning of the Sun in very beautiful manner. This photo was taken few months back when I was at Pasikuda with few of my office mates. This is really beautiful scene and we were blessed to be there at early morning.

If you can leave Colombo at around 10 pm you can be at Pasikuda at early morning to see this beautiful scene. Else you have to stay one of few guest houses at Pasikuda.

How this can happen...???

Flying without wings

Flying without wings, originally uploaded by vidulahasaranga.

My friend Jason trying to show his swimming skills while we were at Pasikuda. Just captured the shot using the burst mode of my camera, but this is the only shot that have the evidence of flying.

Pasikuda is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. Hard to see any wave and you can travel very long distance in to the sea without the fear of deepness.

There are few places that give accommodation to you. The closest cities are Baticaloe and Polonnaruwa.

Some Effective Management Magic Tips

This is something I have taken from the monthly magazine of Leo Club of Colombo Circle. Thought its good to share with all of you. Hope this will give you a good smile with all the busy working schedules.

============================================

Some Effective Management Magic Tips

1. Never give me work in the morning. Always wait until 4:00pm and then bring it to me. The challenge of a deadline is refreshing.

2. If it's really a "rush job", run in and interrupt me every 10 minutes to inquire how it's going. That helps. Or even better, hover behind me, advising me at every keystroke.

3. Always leave without telling anyone where you're going. It gives me a chance to be creative when someone asks where you are.

4. Wait until my yearly review and THEN tell me what my goals SHOULD have been. Give me a mediocre performance rating with a cost of living increase. I'm not here for the money anyway.

5. If you give me more than one job to do, don't tell me which is the priority. I like being a psychic.

6. Do your best to keep me late. I adore this office and really have nowhere to go or anything to do. I have no life beyond working to pay so much taxes on the bonus check you received for being such a good manager.

:D

How to find a file in Linux operation system

One of the main problems that new Linux users have is to search for a perticular file or files. You can use find command for this in many ways.

Lets say you want to search for the file patch_24.sql in root directory.

find / -name patch_24.sql

If you want to search it from your current directory.

find ./ -name patch_24.sql

Lets say you want all the files start with patch.

find ./ -name patch*

If you need a search that do not consider the case sensitivity.

find ./ -iname patch*

Lets look in to some advance searches also.

If you want to look about files that bigger than 10000k

find ./ -size +10000

If the file size less than 500k

find ./ -size -500

So I guess you can have a good search now. Please refer man pages for more details.

Ambewela, Sri Lanka - Have you visited ever???

I got a chance to visit Ambewela, Sri Lanka recently. It is a small tow in up country near Nuwara Eliya (Little England). Its very popular for beautiful sceneries and dairy farms in there including only milk factory in the country. I got chance to get some beautiful pictures also and I have share some of them here.

There are two main farms in Ambewela. One is Ambewela farm and other one is New Zealand Farm. Only the New Zealand farm is open for public to go and see what happening inside.

To visit Ambewela there are two main roads and few sub roads. The most beautiful road is the one go from Nuwara Eliya through Pattipola. You have to travel from Nuwara Eliya in the Nanuoya road and take a left turn before Nanuoya to the Pattipola Road. This road goes through the beautiful Ambewela farm and also some of the jungles. To take the other road you have to go on the Passara road from Nwara Eliya and take a right turn at a small village. But both roads are connecting near the Ambewela railway station.

To go to the Hortan Plains you have to cross the railway crossing at that place and go directly. To go to the New Zealand farm there is a cross road to left hand side after cross the railway line.

So try to go and visit........

The Deer Park

I got the chance to visit a beautiful hotel last week. As I share some photos and details of the Kandalama hotel earlier I would like to share this hotel too with you. So its The Deer Park at Giritale this time.

The Deer Park located at Giritale in Dambulla Polonnaruwa road after passing Habarana and Minneriya. You have to take a turn at Giritale junction and go through the Giritale Dam to the hotel.

Deer Park is not a normal hotel. It consist of small luxury rooms or kabanas. Every kabana have 2 - 4 rooms. Some are two story, some are single. Most of them have open bathrooms.

What I like most is the beautiful scenery of Giritale Reservoir when you come out of your room. There are lots of birds and monkeys too.

Ponds are full of flowers while monkeys jumping from tree to tree. They seems very friendly and photogenic.

This is the main entrance.

Lobby

Dining Hall

Beauty of surrounding

You can visit my Flicker account for some more photos.
